The mass demonstrations against the corrupt system of government in Algeria that began in 2019 only started to wane in the last year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The protest movement persists on social media, including with the musical AWEL AYTA by artist collective Amoriska: ‘The first cry of a generation that has too often been presented as “The” sacrificed generation.’
