Interviews AfrikaFilm Festival 2025 - Ibrahim Snoopy Ahmad about KHARTOUM

In 2022, five filmmakers — Anas Saeed, Rawia Alhag, Ibrahim Snoopy Ahmad, Timeea Mohamed Ahmed and Phil Cox — come together to tell the story of five inhabitants of KHARTOUM: Lokain and Wilson, bottle collectors; Khadmallah, a waitress; Jawad, a volunteer with the resistance committee; and Madji, a civil servant. War breaks out in April 2023, displacing more than ten million people. The protagonists share their experiences of revolution, conflict and exile, as well as their dreams. This collective work is a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit and the redemptive power of creativity. The film was awarded the Peace Film Prize at the Berlinale 2025.
