SAFE EXIT

Samaan, a young Christian, works as a security guard in a residential building in Cairo. He has taken over his father’s profession after he was killed by religious terrorists. Quiet and introverted, Samaan lives alone, works nights and writes his first short story, inspired by his father’s traumatic death. But his routine is soon disrupted by the arrival of Fatima, who has come to see a doctor in the building. In the form of a psychological thriller, director Mohammed Hammad’s SAFE EXIT offers a nuanced portrait of a generation that has lost loved ones in the name of religion.
