2024, Kenya: Kenyan youth rise up against the Finance Bill 2024. Born online, the movement becomes one of the most significant uprisings in the country’s history. THE PEOPLE SHALL follows the courage, grief, anger, and hope of a generation demanding greater political accountability, dignity, and a different future. In this feature-length documentary, filmmakers Mark Maina and Nick Wambugu deliver a testimony of resistance and pay tribute to those who stood up, were injured, or lost their lives in the struggle for a more accountable Kenya.
