Anas, a former rapper, arrives at a cultural centre in Sidi Mounem, a deprived district of Casablanca. He has come to teach rap to a group of young people. Burdened with the weight of tradition, his students find in rap a means to express and to emancipate themselves. Director Nabil Ayouch portrays the reality of Moroccan youth through fictional and real characters played by young non-professional actors in a cultural centre, founded by his Ali Zaoua Foundation in 2014. HAUT ET FORT (CASABLANCA BEATS) gives a voice to this youth who have decided to forge their own path and build a future for themselves in Morocco.
