Podcast: LIVE & LOUD - #YELLIT From The Mountain
COMEDIA Theater Köln Ticketshop
A special highlight awaits the audience at the end of this year's AFFK: a new episode of the #YELLIT From The Mountain podcast will be produced live and in front of an audience. In this format, Benita Bailey regularly invites Black voices from the field of performative art to talk about experiences, visions and struggles.
For this live edition, she meets Jasmina Kuhnke – author, screenwriter, comedienne and activist. The evening takes an in-depth look at her artistic work: from her beginnings as a comedy writer for TV formats, to her acclaimed debut novel “Schwarzes Herz”, to her current work as a screenwriter for film and cinema – Jasmina manages to combine political reality with narrative power on different levels. Her stories are courageous, emotional, provocative and always empowering. The conversation is also about the power of public speaking, about visibility in a white majority society – and about what it means to remain loud and visible as a Black woman.
With her clear stance, analytical acuity and creative versatility, Jasmina Kuhnke is one of the most important voices in the German-speaking world against racism and exclusion.
The poetic prelude will be provided by spoken word artist Miggy Watson. An evening that makes you listen, empathize and think – loud, clever, touching and artistically polyphonic.
