O REGRESSO DE AMICAL CABRAL: Directed by Sana na N’Hada, Flora Gomes, José Bolama Cubumba, Djalma Martins Fettermann, Josefina Lopes Crato; Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sweden | 1976 | 60 min.

This film by several directors shows the repatriation of the remains of the assassinated Amílcar Cabral. He is transferred from Conakry in Guinea to neighbouring Guinea-Bissau.
We see archive footage depicting the historical and cultural context of the events. The film highlights Cabral's importance as a leader and symbol of the anti-colonial movement. It presents the events objectively, making it an important historical document of African decolonisation. They demand justice and a say in their own history.
The film gives everyone a voice in order to achieve what has failed so far – a reconciliation that involves all those involved and raises the question of a common future.

AMICAL CABRAL: Regie: Ana Ramos Lisboa | Kapverden | 2001| 60 min.

This documentary film sheds light on the life and legacy of Cape Verdean-Guinean freedom fighter Amílcar Cabral, who led the armed and political resistance against Portuguese colonial rule in Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde and was a co-founder of the PAIGC.
Using historical archive footage, speeches by Cabral and interviews with his companions, the film paints a picture of a charismatic strategist who closely linked the theory and practice of revolution.  At the same time, he portrays Cabral as a sensitive family man, humanist and poet whose ideas about culture, education and liberation extend far beyond his death in Conakry in 1973
