Kwame and Rivo try their luck in a clandestine sapphire mine. Their hopes are dashed when foreigners buy the land where the mine is located. Kwame returns to his hometown and embarks on a quest to find out his father's story. In search of work, he is confronted with the endemic corruption in his country. DISCO AFRIKA: UNE HISTOIRE MALGACHE depicts Kwame's dilemma between personal interests and social ideals. In his feature film, filmmaker Luck Razanajaona weaves together the heritage of the past and the resistance with the contemporary Madagascan society to explore the power of youth as the driving force for change.
